My life has been glutted of challenges and opportunities. I grew up in public housing in the southern Bronx after my parents came to the mainland United States from Puerto Rico. I not to be found my mother early in life and my father was in succession public assistance. Six years ago I started photographing my family, friends, and other the public in my community. My pictures describe the marvel and beauty of things, on the other hand photography is also a way for me to expres my emotions. I take in succession the role of documentary highway poet as I seek meaning in the world for myself and anyone besides looking for something in which to have faith. Nostalgia emanates in my gaze and in the estimates of my subjects, who are caught reminiscing or trying to unite with a memory, a feeling, a person--or life itself.

JOSELYN DeJESUS graduates with a BFA in photography from the train of Visual Arts (SVA) in May 2006 Her work has been exhibited at E3 Gallery, P 122 SVA's Visual Arts Gallery, ICP at the Point, and the modern York Public Library's Schomburg Center for Research in Black refinement She lives in New York City.
